About the book

You do not need a booking, a big bathroom or a big budget to feel like you have spent an evening at a spa. You need a plan, a few things from your kitchen cupboard, and permission to slow down. This book gives you all three.

Home Spa Day shows you how to turn your bathroom and bedroom into a calm space in just fifteen minutes, then walks you step by step through bath and shower rituals, a seven-step evening facial, gentle kitchen masks and body scrubs, and self-massage sequences for your neck, shoulders, legs, hands, feet and scalp. You will also find simple breathing techniques, a body scan you can do in the bath, journal prompts and gentle bedtime stretches to quiet a busy mind.

Best of all, there are six ready-made spa nights with exact timings, from a 30-minute weeknight reset and a low-energy evening for exhausted days to a full two-hour ritual, a shower-only version and a shared spa night with a friend. Clear safety notes, patch-test guidance and a habit plan help you make it a regular, realistic part of your week.

What you get:
• A 15-minute plan to turn any bathroom into a calm spa space
• Six ready-made spa nights with timings, from 30 minutes to 2 hours

• Step-by-step self-massage for neck, shoulders, hands, feet and scalp

The single biggest difference between a rushed bath and a spa evening is the setting. Your nervous system reads its surroundings constantly: harsh overhead light, a pile of laundry, a phone buzzing on the edge of the sink. Change those signals and your body begins to slow down before you even touch the water. Work through your senses one at a time. You do not need everything on this list; two or three changes make a real difference. Sight: switch off the main light. Use a lamp, fairy lights or candles in stable holders. Clear surfaces of anything that reminds you of chores. Sound: choose a calm playlist, rain sounds, or simply silence. Put your phone on do-not-disturb or leave it in another room. Smell: open a window for a few minutes first to freshen the air, then add one gentle scent. Touch: warm your towel on a radiator or in the dryer, put clean soft clothes or pyjamas within reach, and place a bath mat so you do not step onto cold tiles. Taste: pour a large glass of water and, if you like, make a caffeine-free herbal tea for afterwards. Preparing the after-space is the secret most people miss. Stepping out of a warm bath into a bright, messy bedroom undoes half the calm. When the bed is ready, you simply glide from one to the other.
